“A Better Day with BENEO”: Healthier Snacks at IFT 2017
At the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Food Expo in Las Vegas from June 25 – 28 BENEO will focus on solutions for healthier snacks. Research shows that snacks have taken center stage in consumers’ preferences.
Many U.S. consumers today are tending to skip meals completely in favour of snacking all day. With a versatile portfolio of ingredients from nature, BENEO helps to create healthier snacks that respond to current consumer trends. These include sugar replacement, a healthy weight, the microbiome (digestive health) as well as improved energy supply.
Toothfriendly snacking opportunities with Isomalt
The rise of food-on-the-go consumption and our snacking society makes sugar avoidance difficult. With increasing snacking occasions throughout the day, there is even less time for tooth enamel remineralisation, leading to potential dental cavities over time. With BENEO’s Isomalt it is easy to create sugar-free snacks that do not promote tooth decay and yet do not sacrifice on taste.
Being made from sugar beet, Isomalt has a natural, mild sugar-like taste and has received an EU health claim for its toothfriendly characteristics, as well as a US Food and Drug Administration approved dental health claim.
BENEO is raising the bar on sugar replacement – naturally
Reducing sugar has become a key concern amongst consumers and there is a strong demand for healthier food and snacks. BENEO’s naturally-sourced ingredients can replace common sugars and at the same time support a healthy lifestyle.
Our chicory root fibres and functional carbohydrates offer solutions to reduce sugar with numerous nutritional and technical benefits. Consumers do not need to make sacrifices on taste and texture while enjoying a balanced nutrition that supports a healthy metabolism and weight management.
Studies confirm better digestive health with BENEO’s chicory root fibres for all ages
Two recently published scientific studies show that BENEO’s prebiotic chicory root fibres support digestive health by improving bowel regularity and softening stools in adults and children.
The first study shows that chicory root inulin improves bowel function in adults and contributes to improved digestive health.
The second study focuses on children and demonstrates that prebiotic chicory root fibres, inulin and oligofructose, support digestive health by improving stool consistency, while being very well tolerated.
New website: Expert views on chicory root fibres
The role of dietary fibre in nutrition and health is the topic on the new expert platform www.dietaryfiber.org.
The website gives scientifically sound information on the unique characteristics of prebiotic chicory root fibres – from improving the balance of the intestinal flora by stimulating beneficial bifidobacteria growth to its impact on weight management and much more.
Get deeper insights on the positive impact of chicory root fibres and learn why they play an important role for our health and wellbeing.
