Today’s knowledge on the nutritional properties of inulin and oligofructose reflects many years of continuous intensive research activities together with the leading experts in the field and on a global basis. Together with these experts, the scientific basis for the substantiation of the health claims was established and will be further strengthened and extended. Our BENEO ™label reflects this commitment to science-based messages to the consumer and to health professionals.
Products may carry the BENEO™ label if they are in line with the opinions of independent scientific experts in the field.
A/ the claims on the pack related to the BENEO™ label are scientifically substantiated
B/ the product contains enough of the ingredients from chicory (scientifically known as inulin and oligofructose) to have a beneficial effect on your health:
A portion generally contains about 25% of the recommended daily intake of inulin/oligofructose needed to achieve the desired effect. Intake recommendations per day are indicated on the packaging.
Note that the intake of inulin or oligofructose is cumulative and may come from various sources: many food products (carrying the BENEO™ label or not) but also a large number of vegetables and fruits (like onions, leeks, wheat, garlic, bananas…).
It is therefore not complicated to reach the recommended levels on a daily basis.
The health benefits provided by inulin and oligofructose support a healthy diet. A varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle is of key importance for wellbeing.
